We are pleased to announce that on July 12th and 13th
Gar Drolma in Dayton, Ohio will be hosting a visit from Khenchen Tsultrim Namdak Rinpoche. Khenchen is the main Khenpo at Tai Situ's Sherab Ling, a major Karma Kagyu monastic college in India. Khenchen Tsultrim has kindly agreed to give two days of what promise to be wonderful teachings. These teachings will be of particular interest to students in the Karma Kagyu, Drikung Kagyu, and Nyimgma traditions.

Vajrasattva Empowerment & Teachings

On Saturday July 12th Khenchen will give the empowerment, reading transmission, and practical teaching for the Vajrasattva practice known as “The Wish- fulfilling Jewel.”

This is a special, short purification practice involving recitation of the 6-syllable mantra of Vajrasattva. This practice is easy to accomplish and has many profound benefits associated with it.

In 1997 the renowned master Khenpo Jigme Phuntsok revealed this practice as a Terma (discovered treasure teaching). This practice text has been translated and will be available
at the teaching.

Mahamudra Teachings
On Sunday July 13th Khenchen will give a teaching on the 5 Part Mahamudra. Mahamudra is the central teaching of the Kagyu tradition. It directly introduces us to our true nature and gives methods for stabilizing and expanding our recognition of it.
The 5 Part Mahamudra is one of the special transmissions of our Drikung Kagyu Tradition. It clearly describes 5 aspects that should be present in any complete session of
Mahamudra meditation.

Khenchen will base his teaching on a song of realization by Jigten Sumgon, the founder of the Drikung Kagyu tradition.
