Hello Everyone,

Khenpo Choejor Gyamtso, Resident Teacher, invites you to Dorje Ling Tibetan Buddhist Center - Atlanta for Spring 2014 teachings culminating in meditation instruction. These teachings will be conveyed in 4 sessions on consecutive Friday evenings at 7:30 pm (April 11, 18, 25 and May 02, 2014).

Khenpo Choejor's offerings are in the tradition of the rare, highly-experiential and skillful Jonangpa Lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. Recipients will receive introduction to, and explanations of the really beautiful and powerful Refuge Prayers of Dolpopa and of Taranatha, instruction in Guru Yoga and in Meditation.

It is said that a former translator for H.H. The 14th Dalai Lama, Alexander Berzin, once mused that a more apt translation than "refuge" is "wholehearted commitment". Taranatha wrote many prayers, and it also has been said that H.H.D.L. uses many of Taranatha's prayers. We cannot hide from the travails of everyday life, but we may lessen and even be victorious for ourselves and others in transforming adversity and maras into realizations with wholehearted commitment to our practice, to our cultivation. To know that countless sentient beings have fruitfully followed in the footsteps of those who have gone before is motivating and supremely encouraging. The energetic imprint of a qualified, unbroken lineage conveyed through the vibration of speech is dynamic.

Volunteers will be on hand to welcome and orient anyone who has not previously attended a Tibetan Buddhist teaching, or visited the Center. All are welcome. Accomplished Tibetan-English/English-Tibetan translator, and knowledgeable Buddhist Scientist Tsondue Samphel will provide translation.

Texts will be distributed for the teachings. Pre-registration is suggested to ensure adequate quantities of texts will be available. No one will be turned away if not pre-registered. All are welcome. If attending teachings, a $10 donation per session is suggested to help defray costs associated with hosting the teachings. No one is ever turned away for lack of funds. To pre-register, please use the link to the center's Contact Us form below. In the subject line, write "Registration for Spring 2014".

In the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, a Teacher's Offering is suggested. Please consider making a Teacher's Offering as the Lama is not on a stipend.
