Rigdzin Sokdrup (Wyl. rig 'dzin srog sgrub) or 'Accomplishing the Life-Force of the Vidyadharas' — a cycle of teachings revealed by Lhatsün Namkha Jikmé after a pure vision he had while meditating in the Cave of the Heart of the Deity to the north of Drakkar Tashiding in Sikkim. The cycle includes the famous practice of Riwo Sangchö.

Famed as the opener of the hidden land of Sikkim (sbas yul 'bras mo ljongs = 'Hidden Valley of Rice'), Lhatsun Namkha Jigme is regarded to be a reembodiment of both the Dzogchen masters Vimalamitra (8th century) and Longchenpa (14th century).

"In accordance with an earlier prophetic declaration of the dakinis, the famous cycle of terma teachings called Rigdzin Sokdrup, ‘Accomplishing the Life-Force of the Vidyadharas’, emerged in a pure vision while he was in retreat in the cave of Lhari Rinchen Nyingpuk at Drakkar Tashiding. These teachings, of which Riwo Sangchö forms the mengak or innermost instruction, are unsurpassed instructions on Dzogchen Atiyoga."

OK, thanks very much. Does anyone know if this kind of thing has certain requirements for participating?

I think they would mention if it did. All the lucky ones should definitely go if they can. Dzongsar Rinpoche is fantastic.

Well, I shouldn't really spend money like this on a trip from Brazil, but I kept remembering today that my guru herself said she'd be going. Besides, I've been wanting to make a connection with Dzongsar for a while now. Cya'll there.

P.S.: don't miss this if you can go, Chime Phagma Nyingtik was the main practice of both Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche and Dudjom Rinpoche (!!). Rigdzin Sogdrub is a wonderful cycle of Dzogchen teachings which includes wonderful practices such as Riwo Sangchod.

I'm kind of curious about the fact that this was the main practice of Dudjom Rinpoche. I don't doubt it, since DJKR certainly would know, but I would have thought that Dudjom Rinpoche's main practice would have been something from the Dudjom Tersar.

These Rinpoches are often very humble about their own termas. Chagdud Rinpoche, for example, discovered a wonderful Wrathful Guru Rinpoche sadhana as mind terma, but probably never publicly gave the empowerment for it, preferring to confer another one (Chokling Tersar probably, but I'm not sure). His Guru Drakpo practice was only spread later by his son, Jigme Tromge Rinpoche.

Driving down tomorrow!
:woohoo:
I point out that the program ends on July 15, which is, according to the big red book, Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo's birthday, and, I might add, my own!
