Dorsem Lama Chöpa (Vajrasattva)
Vajrasattva is the peaceful aspect of enlightened mind that pacifies all levels of obstacles and defilements; outer, inner and secret. This Dorsem Lama Chöpa Vajrasattva practice was compiled by Kyabje Dudjom Rinpoche from the Mindrolling Dorsem treasure. The Rinchod Terzöd (a compilation of the treasure teachings of Guru Rinpoche and other great masters) begins with this Minling Dorsem.

“Generally Vajrasattva is a very important for the Nyingma as thousands of empowerments are synthesized in this practice. It was also a practice strongly connected with Dungse Rinpoche who asked us to do this Dorsem Lama Chöpa after he had passed away. In all three yanas, we have so many samayas (tantric words of honor) and vows. With refuge we say we are never going to harm any other living being; with mahayana, we vow to benefit all other sentient beings, and with vajrayana we vow to keep pure vision all the time. However, due to our limited capacity as beginner practitioners, we break our samayas and vows and therefore delay our accomplishment of siddhis (spiritual attainments). Dorsem Lama Chöpa is important because it repairs all hinayana, mahayana and vajrayana samayas and siddhis are right there – this is also the point of Shitro Ngagso.

Dorsem Lama Chöpa has a self-empowerment (Dak-juk) part. Normally we receive the ground empowerment from a lama; the path empowerment is from the mandala with substance and the unelaborated empowerment through guru yoga. Here the Dak Juk empowerment is between the path and unelaborated empowerment and takes care of all samayas that we receive during the ground empowerment. The path empowerment will therefore repair broken samayas and the unelaborated version, through guru yoga, is the result empowerment when you attain full enlightenment and truly manifest as the deity. This is very important for Vajrayana practitioners.” Lama Tharchin Rinpoche

Throma Nagmo
“The Sole Mother” Throma Nagmo is the most profound of Dudjom Lingpa's treasures, the practice of which has the ability to instantaneously cut through or transform all deluded phenomena into Dharmata. Through this practice thirteen of Dudjom Lingpa's disciples attained rainbow body (the dissolution of the body's elements into light); and countless others have since achieved the goal of enlightenment. In this retreat you will have the chance to familiarize yourselves with the concise and medium length Thröma sadhanas as well as the chöd practice of the Four Feasts.

Zhitro Ngagso
Kyabje Dudjom Rinpoche compiled this 100 Peaceful and Wrathful Deity practice, based on a Karma Lingpa treasure, to remove practitioners’ obstacles to the path through restoring all broken precepts, vows and tantric samayas in order to achieve fully enlightened Buddhahood.

Collection of Seven Treasures Drupchen June 21-29
Drupchen (Great Accomplishment) is an extensive practice retreat. In the Collection of Seven Treasures: the Mind Accomplishment of the Lama we perform, as a group, this elaborate Guru Rinpoche guru yoga practice with chanting, sacred dance and 24 hour mantra recitation. Due to Guru Rinpoche’s previous compassionate aspirations for these degenerate times, this practice carries the most penetrating compassion and wisdom blessings. Tibetan Sacred Dances:
Guru Rinpoche’s birthday is celebrated with an afternoon of sacred dance. To view these rarely performed dances is a great blessing. Everyone is welcome.

June 22-28
Children's Retreat:
“I am truly encouraging parents to influence their children to come to kid’s retreat this summer at Pema Osel Ling. It is very important because although as parents our generation is already engaged in the Dharma, we are responsible to pass this Dharma lineage onto the next generation. Especially for young children to have experience in Dharma is so important. Because, for example, you can plant 2 plants, one that is medicinal and one that is poison, and the one that is planted first and receives care will grow the biggest. Planting the Dharma habit lasts forever and continues to grow. Parents can influence children in the Dharma by encouraging them to participate in summer retreat. They can also show children the Dance DVD from H.H. Thinley Norbu Rinpoche that is available in the bookstore to encourage your children.

I really LOVE when children come to summer retreat. It is good for them, but more important it is especially good for me!”

Lots of Love and Respect,
Lama Tharchin Rinpoche

Children's retreat is open to children aged 3-10. A full program of dharma-related activities will be offered. Please let us know as soon as possible if your child will join the retreat. All children are welcome.
