In your notes sections are you saying that even though there was "no webcast" advertised if one had logged in at that time they could have seen it at that time? I thought that there would be no broadcast today because Rinpoche does not do online empowerments, only tridlung/lungs. Maybe I misread something.

Rinpoche was going to give an empowerment offline, but changed his mind and gave a normal donwang online. I missed the webcast yesterday, but people said that he announced the change of plans during the webcast on that day.

Rinpoche doesn't only do lungs online, he does empowerments which he calls donwangs, "essence empowerments".

So is it possible to do this practice without the donwang and just the usual lung he gives at the end of normal retreats?

It should be possible, otherwise the whole webcast would've been taken out in the first place, on the premise that it isn't. The empowerment wasn't going to be webcasted at first, after all, but other days with practice were.

The same thing happens with other practices, like Mandarava or Guru Draghpur. Separate empowerments exist, but you can do their practice even with the lung.

There's still no practice text on site, however, hopefully they'll upload it soon.

The ebook of the practice is available at Shang Shung for purchase (although they'll probably upload it for free so no need to rush and buy it out of hand).

Do you know if the Guru Amitayus CD has the longer practice on it? I have the Ritual melodies CD and it only has the short practice. Also, from what I see the replay site no longer has that last Amitayus retreat available for replay so I will need to find an mp3.

Thanks,

R
