Purifying Your Karma through Mantra

Saturday, Dec. 14, 2014
9 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Eastern Time U.S. (New York time)
Full-Day Free Live Webcast!

Join us from your computer for a special free live all-day webcast of dzogchen teachings. Geshe Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche will guide the cyber-sangha in two 90-minute teaching sessions. The day also will include two 60-minute meditation sessions led by senior students. Tell your friends and join us online!

Karma is Sanskrit for “action.” According to the Tibetan Bön and Buddhist traditions, any action you do with intent is said to leave a trace, whether positive or negative, in your mind-stream. That trace will bear fruit as soon as conditions are ripe for it to manifest. By purifying negative karma, you are less bounded by conditions and can more easily overcome harmful patterns of thought or behavior.

During this webcast, Geshe Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche will explain and guide a meditation that combines visualization with recitation of the powerful purification mantra A Kar A Me, one of the three Great Mantras of Bön. Additional guided meditations will be led by a senior student. These practices, from the Experiential Transmission of Zhang Zhung, are traditionally done to prepare oneself as a container of higher spiritual knowledge and as a vehicle for profound transformation

SCHEDULE (New York time):

I have question :)

Geshe Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche will explain and guide a meditation that combines visualization with recitation of the powerful purification mantra A Kar A Me, one of the three Great Mantras of Bön.

TWR will give transmission/lung for this mantra?
Or,only explain for those who have lung?

The chat room on the webcast has always been open for questions. This would be good to post there when you sign in, so the moderator sees it and can find out. But my understanding is that if TWR is chanting that mantra live with you, and asks you to chant with him, you have lung.

If the thought of demons
Never rises in your mind,
You need not fear the demon hosts around you.
It is most important to tame your mind within....

In so far as the Ultimate, or the true nature of being is concerned,
there are neither buddhas or demons.
He who frees himself from fear and hope, evil and virtue,
will realize the insubstantial and groundless nature of confusion.
Samsara will then appear as the mahamudra itself….

That's too bad, you can watch the recording on ustream at a more convenient time.
Rinpoche has mentioned before that he knows there are people who want to participate and can't be there for various reasons, and he includes them. So, set your intent.

2.Before you, in the sky, imagine Refuge Tree and feel the presence of enlightened beings. In the center of this visualization is Shenlha Okar . He wears ornaments of the deity Sambhogakaya representing all enlightened qualities which are the cure for the suffering of cyclic existence.

That is an excellent practice. Glad I followed that one! I have to admit I was expecting a little more teaching, but four sessions of practice in 5 hours didn't do any harm, that's for sure!
