This year Vesak Day will be very grand and auspicious. Our Resident Rinpoche His Eminence Doonsay Ratna Vajra Rinpoche, His Eminence Doonsay Gyana Vajra Rinpoche, Her Eminence GyalYum ChenMo, Dagmo Sonam La and entourage of monks from Phodrang and Sakya Centre (Puruwala Branch) will grace the occasion.

Vesak week Program:
19 & 20-May Drawing of Sand Mandala of Shakyamuni Buddha and the 16 Arhat
21-May, Fri The Birthday of Shakyamuni Buddha

9.00 am – 12 noon Long Life Puja dedicated to His Holiness
In between “Long Life Prayer of His Holiness Sakya Trizin” will be played continuously
8.00 pm Long Life Puja Part 2 with Ten Soom by Board members and Vesak Grand Sponsors
8.30 pm Late Dinner Reception to celebrate the Birthday of the Buddha
22-May, Sat
9.00 am – 12 noon Long 16 Arhat Puja with sand mandala
2.00 pm – 6.00 pm Tsimara Tsok (with a lot of dark red buns)

23-May, Sun
9.30 am – 12.30 pm
Tara Puja (weekly practice)
16 Arhat Puja with sand mandala
2.00 pm – 6.00 pm Chenrezig’s King Tradition Wang followed by
Shakyamuni Buddha Jehnang

24-May, Mon
9.00 am – 12 noon 16 Arhat Puja with sand mandala
4.00 pm – 8.00 pm The Puja continues. Kansgo

8.00 pm – 10.00 pm Explanation on the 16 Arhat Puja

1. Blessing of Sponsors’ Shrine in the Hall
2. Blessing of the 3 external shrines with Lighting of Lamp Ceremony with chanting
3. Release of Life
9.30 am – 10.30 am
Dharma Talk by His Eminence Doonsay Ratna Vajra Rinpoche on “Deeds of the Buddha”
10.30 am – 11.30 am
Shakyamuni and His 16 Arhats Puja
11.30 am – 1.00 pm
Vegetarian Lunch for the public
1.00 pm – 1.45 pm Bestowal of Refuge Vow by His Eminence Doonsay Gyana Vajra Rinpoche
2.00 pm – 3.15 pm Tara Puja Blessing for the Public during Tara Puja session
7.00 pm – 8.30 pm Jindak Ngasol Ritual: Blessing of increase well-being for all who attend,
in general, and for the Vesak Day Grand Sponsor, in particular Circumambulation of temple
