Anniversary of HH Penor Rinpoche Parinirvana Practice

Postby kirtu » Wed Mar 10, 2010 8:41 pm

email from Palyul International:

As the Anniversary of the Parinirvana of our Root Guru, His Holiness Penor Rinpoche, approaches, we thought it would be useful to provide the advice for how our Palyul Centers can commemorate this day so that all who wish to join in prayers may easily do so. On these days we can all join together as one heart, and strengthen our connection to His Holiness.

In Namdroling we are carrying through the practice and puja of the Hundred Deities for the full day starting from 14th and continuing through the 18th of March 2010.

For our centers, we are advising Guru Yoga practice followed by Vajrasattva or Hundred Deities practice. You may accumulate the Short Swift Rebirth Prayer as much as you can, particularly on 16th of March. This is the main day of the Parinirvana in the Lunar Calendar. If you can, then continue for three days with this practice.

We all hope every one can enjoy practice together for the Swift Rebirth of our most beloved Root Guru, His Holiness Penor Rinpoche. May the Light of His Reincarnation illuminate all of Cyclic Existence, Samsara, clearing out the darkness of ignorance and liberating all beings in the ultimate Clear Light of Enlightenment.

With blessings from the Guru and the Lineage.

May all beings benefit!

Sincerely,
Your Friends in the Palyul Email Team

Palyul Changchub Dargyeling, Alexandria, Virginia met at a member's house this evening and practiced in their very beautiful shrine room in commemoration of HH Penor Rinpoche's parinirvana. I arrived late and came in on the Guru Yoga practice, during which we accumulated HH Penor Rinpoche's long life prayer. Afterwards we had some tsok from the NYC center and saw some very inspiring pictures of Tulku Ogyen Rinpoche's recent visit.

Returning home I take the Metro (the DC area light rail and subway) to China Town to get a dinner burrito at California Tortilla. While waiting the familiar refrain of Joe Jackson's "Steppin Out" starts playing and the lines impress themselves upon me:

Now - the mist across the windows hides the lines
But nothing hides the color of the lights that shine
Electricity so fine
Look and dry your eyes
We're - so tired of all the darkness in our lives
With no more angry words to say can come alive
Get into a car and drive to the other side

The guru yoga practice had been profound; this is one of my favorite songs and it is as if HH Penor Rinpoche was singing them to me directly. Another and marked arising of the absolute in the relative. I took the Metro home and ate the burrito as tsok.
