Hello! I was listening to His Holiness the Dalai Lama's teachings from Italy, and I was reminded that he and other Tibetan teachers often repeat these two expressions. Could someone translate them for me please? I think Tadene (?) means "in other words", or at least it seems to precede further explanation... O Ya - is it just "Oh yes"?
Thanks!

I'm not sure that it has a literal translation. From what I have been told it is merely a
flavoring word like "denn" in german.

"Ten nay," is how I hear it....it means something like "and then"........
These are just connective phrases, conversationally, and in explanations. It can also means something like "after that," or "Because of that," depending on how it's used. I

Thank you both! Yes I was expecting these to be connecting expressions, but as they are said so often I've been curious...

ད་དེ་ནས་ (da de nas) is literally "Now... then..." and could therefore more like "so now..." "moving on now.."
