Pronunciation of "ai" in Tibetan

When is "ai" pronounced /ai/? In ChNN's own name for instance, it is usually pronounced /ai/ but in other instances invovling the genitive of namkha it is pronounced /namkhe/.

It depends on where you are from in Tibet.
