There is no problem if new posts would push this list of Bon Dzogchen Centers downwards.

It is so confusing that general Dzogchen Forum. What is what and who is who and why?
I retire myself from many points of view regarding that general Dzogchen Forum and i don' t see it as ok to put Bon Dzogchen Centers among other Dzogchen Centers who don' t see themselves as Buddhists etc.

By the way i thought that Dharma Wheel was there for Buddhists and Buddhism but it seems to be that already 20 % don' t feel themselves as Buddhist. Maybe the heading should be changed into Dharma Wheel a forum for Buddhists and non Buddhists. And on top of that Non Buddhists like Christians, Jews, Islamists, Hindhus, Sikhs, Jains, new Agies and the others i did forgot, would have their own sub-forum.

But that decission is left to the head Administrator of course.

So all in all i have a better feeling if these Bon Dzogchen Centers are placed on the right place and on the right time inside the Bon sub-forum.

I quite understand.

Maybe ask a Mod to make it a 'sticky' in the Bon forum then?

I like 'sticky' threads as it means useful information is presented at the top for people opening up the forum.

Would it be OK to post a link to this thread from the Dzogchen one as people may well be looking there for a Bon Lama they have heard about?

IMO a link to Bon Dzogchen Centers inside the Bon sub-forum is not so needed / nescessary.
It fullfills all needs if this topic is mentioned only in the Bon sub-forum.

Lopon Lak would certainly say he is a Bonpo.

But like i have written before, in Tibet we know only Bonpos (Tibetan Buddhists) and Chospas (Indian orientated Buddhists), the name Buddhist is not used.

That is not strange seen in the light of persecution of Bonpos, that they could never be called Tibetan Buddhists, this claim was only exclusive for the new imported form of belief, the Indian Buddhism.

Nevertheless, Bonpos and Chospas have both a Buddha so they could be called both Buddhists but in Tibet there is no name for this collective belief due to political manipulations.

So they are both Buddhists but are according Tibetan politics called different.

So Lopon Lak would call him a Bonpo due to Tibetan customs but finally he is a Bon Buddhist and follows Bon Buddha Dharma. It is a word game due to only Tibetan customs and no more.

Bon Buddha Dharma does include (Like in Vajrayana):

I know good Buddhists who feel that Bon followers have nothing to say to Dzogchen students, that Bon is ersatz....Where should we draw the line ?

I had thought that if a person is searching DW for 'Dzogchen' as opposed to 'Buddhism' or 'Bon' then Bon Dzogchen should be welcome to make use of the sticky and add to that list (as well as maybe posting in the Bon forum.

Clearly people have sensitivities about this.


My apologies if it was interpreted as an attempt to hijack the Bonpo content itself, as I was only seeking to view DW from the POV of members seeking information and to be helpful to them.

I guess you did misunderstood my mesasage.

We are dealing here with the traditional Dzogchen Lineages with Ngondro and those like you who prefer not to do these preliminaries, because the DI would serve for all people there are. Well this was doubt very clear, in as well Nyingma Dzogchen as well Bon Dzogchen, therefore their gradual approach. Well further can people in our Traditional Dzogchen Lineages call themselves Bon Buddhist or Vajrayana Buddhist, so here the people who are going for DI are sure Buddhists!

So if i did understood well then is also Buddhism not per se needed to get the DI running, whereas Dzogchen is total Buddhism or Buddha Dharma.

Further blased in what way if there are clear different view points, which i do defend in the Buddhist sense, when i may?

Well i know these facts, very sad in that case, but nevertheless Dzogchen = Dzogchen, there are different approaches that is clear.
We have traditional and non traditional Dzogchen, like we can watch here aboard. But then anyway all these Lineages have the fruit Masters, or the proves.

So regarding methods etc. we can share these things, but sometimes the minor differences overshadow total the general Dzogchen View.......
It is not i have a mission but what is Dzogchen and Dzogchen that should be disciussed. Own Lineage news should be done on the related forum, that keeps objectief conversation possible.
