Bodhicitta is a very wellknown aspect, as well in Bon as Mahayana and Tantra.

What is the difference between how Bodhichitta develops according to the Dzogchen point of view or the Madhyamaka point of view?

Bodhichitta itself is the base for all Mahayana practitioners. But first as preparation Dzogchen practitioners must do the Preliminary Practices; that is the foundation for any kind of practice - Sutra, Tantra, Mahayana or Dzogchen. You have to practice Compassion and that goes into Bodhichitta. Once you realize the Natural State, I have already said that Nature is perfected with Compassion, Bodhichitta, Refuge, the 10 Paramitas - they are all perfected in this State. So once you realize this State you don't need to practise anything in addition. It is like drinking milk - all the vitamins and butter are there, you don't need to check.
Whether it will be good for your body or disturb your body, it does whatever it does.
First of all you must know that this State is clear and then you have to know what 'perfected' means. Once you have realized that, you don't need to separate them out in your practice; they are all there already.
I have said about Rigpa Chungde, that you only need to practice and concentrate with Thogal and the Natural State together.
They are not separate and if you practice them together then everything is there - Bodhichitta, Compassion, the 10 Paramitas - everything - and finally it brings you to Buddha. The cause is there.
The important thing is that when 'you are ready to integrate meditation and normal activities of body, speech and mind, you can try to integrate with Bodhichitta, tantric visualization or reciting mantras - whatever you could do, you can practice anything because it doesn't disturb your realization of the Natural State, so then you can integrate anything.
Until then, it doesn't mean stop and don't recite - it is quite dangerous if you understand that. But when you are ready to integrate these activities depends on your own capacity; if your meditation is not stable enough to integrate with activities, then if you try to do it, there can be disturbances. You try to practice but your meditation doesn't develop much because it is disturbed. If your meditation is stable and you make some movements but they disturb your meditation, then that means that you are not ready to integrate activities. Only you the individual can check; no-one else can say.
