Stages of attainment

So what arr the stages of attainment im buddhism? and when you reach nirvana, do you still rrcite sadhana, mantra and yidam? And is there any buddhist in recent times who have attained nirvsna..?

Well, none of my friends seems to have attained complete enlightenment. :tongue:

You might want to Google up 'nirvana' 'enlightenment' and 'rainbow body'.

In any Tibetan tradition you will find fair numbers of people who believe their current leader has attained something like full enlightenment. I assume the situation is similar in other branches of Buddhism.

I think it's been said before, but I really recommend "What Makes You Not a Buddhist" By Dzongsar Jamyang Khyentse. His theme is the Four Seals, the fourth of which is 'Nirvana is beyond concepts.'
