question on amitabha`s mantra

Postby qwerty13 » Wed Sep 18, 2013 4:03 pm

Pure land buddhist chant "Namo amitufo" or just "Amitabha,Amitbha" so that they among many other benefits of that mantra will take rebirth in the pure land of Amitabha. What about the mantra "Om ami deva hrih"? Is this basically same thing as chanting "Namo amitufo" and ensuring rebirth in sukhavati? (and yes I know recitation must be done with devotion, bodhichitta and faith).
This might be stupid question but I have recently felt urgency in reciting Amitabhas name. Howere, i like Om ami deva hrih more than just "Namo amitufo" but i am not sure if "amideva-mantra" is correct way.

So, is the mantra and " Namo amitufo" basically same thing with same benefits?
People love emotional confusion. Just look at the film posters in front of the cinema: nothing but emotional confusion on their faces. Buddha-dharma means not putting yourself at the mercy of emotional confusion. In the world, on the other hand, a big fuss is made over nothing.

i think so. its the name of amitabha. different mantra but the essence is the same. what matters is your intention
If the thought of demons
Never rises in your mind,
You need not fear the demon hosts around you.
It is most important to tame your mind within....

In so far as the Ultimate, or the true nature of being is concerned,
there are neither buddhas or demons.
He who frees himself from fear and hope, evil and virtue,
will realize the insubstantial and groundless nature of confusion.
Samsara will then appear as the mahamudra itself….
