Dharma Wheel

So I am currently in deployed and am in an area that doesn't have access to a buddhist center and have a ton of questions. I don't have a teacher. I just want to know where to start. I have done a ton of reading on the internet, was stationed in Korea, and am eager to learn. I feel like the internet has a lot of good information but weeding through it is making things very hard and frustrating. PLEASE HELP!!!!

I like www.Buddhanet.net , it is a great clearinghouse of info for the beginner.

Are you drawn to a specific tradition? Or is it all foreign to you?

Being in Korea I was drawn to Zen and have been reading a lot about it. The website I looked at (corny as it seemshttp://www.howtopracticezen.com/newbeginningzen.html) talked a lot about present moment awareness meditation. It was very easy to follow and gave good information.

But I am open to all suggestions. Just looking for somewhere to start.
