"They are the same. They both use the 14 syllable mantra. The sole difference is whether it is kama or terma. Nyingma Simhamukha is all terma. Kama Simhamukha comes from Bari Lotsawa through Sakya.

I received an empowerment recently for Sengdongma that originated with a previous Karma Chagme Rinpoche and was described as a pure vision teaching, but I think the lama also said the empowerment was a combination of terma and kama. (Had another empowerment in the past, for Ta Chag Khyung Sum, that was also so described.) What does this mean?
