Symbolism of the Damaru

Postby gaelic » Mon Jan 27, 2014 2:41 am

Greetings! I am very new to everything, I wanted to know about the Damaru, its symbolism, and how it is made. I think I read somewhere that traditionally the drum shells were the skull of a male and a female, and this symbolized something in particular, and in the making of it, the skins are buried for so many days, and there are certain mantras in the drum. Any more info on this would be great. And if you use tibetan terms can you also put the english meaning. Thank you so much!

Thoroughly tame your own mind.
This is (possibly) the teaching of Buddha.
