When we talk about being already enlightened it couldn't mean the wisdom or realization that is the outcome of practice. Enlightenment in that sense means our buddha nature is now and always has been our nature. There is nothing new to be gained other than recognizing that this mind is Buddha.
Yet there is still the state of delusion when we do not recognize the Buddha nature of our own mind, and the moment of recognition, of directly seeing this mind is unbounded, nondual and unaffected by the world of change.
