Ekhnaton, a coincidence ?

Some years ago we had a discussion about the radical Pharaoh Ekhnaton, about whom Philip Glass has composed an opera. We thought that the name can be seen as sanskrit, ek + nath, meaning the One Protector, his religious reform can be seen as a mahamudra like initiatory system, and so on...
What then happened is that a vast effort was put into changing His name into Akhenaten( or some other new name), Philip Glass's opera has also changed its name! You can seek the pharaoh and his name in wikipedia, to see for yourself!
In Mahamudra they sometimes call the guru Lord Protector, atleast there used to be this apellation for the guru and teacher.
