POWER KILLS, DEMOCIDE PHOTOGRAPHS

Postby Aemilius » Tue Mar 19, 2013 4:48 pm

This is from a site of Hawaii'an professor Rudolph J. Rummel. It is a large site about the democides that occurred in the 1900's. This is a link to its picture rooms, there are three of them. Having looked at the pictures they stayed on my mind for two weeks, and provoked various ideas and thoughts: one of them ís that the human body is entirely dependent on food, without food it withers away, but it withers very slowly, it can be still alive in an extremely undernourished and impoverished condition. We have abundant food now, and so we never realize this, that our bodies actually depend on food, that they do not exist without it. Please think about it:

[Warning, the site linked to contains extremely graphic images of human corpses]

"All beings subsist on food", was said by the Buddha, contemplation of this truth will lead to awakening, to liberation.
You are empty of independence, empty of self-existence, because You depend on food.
Is the food You see on the market stall You? How does it become You, after you have digested it?
Are the water, earth, manure and sunshine, that the vegetables depend on, also You?
