New Shikoku Pilgrimage Video

Post by kirtu »

Here is part 1 of a new Shikoku pilgrimage video on YouTube (English search Ohenro 42 days). This was published in August, 2013. A young man walks the pilgrimage and we see it from the ground level. It is all in Japanese. I have not seen all of it but am looking forward to exploring it.

The Tai-ching states "the women in the realms of Mara, Sakra and Brahma all neither abandoned ( their old) bodies nor received (new) bodies. They all received buddhahood with their current bodies (genshin)" Thus these verses state that the dharma nature is like a great ocean. No right or wrong is preached (within it) Ordinary people and sages are equal, without superiority or inferiority

Ingmar Beldman's 2013 Shikoku pilgrimage. In at least 23 parts, in pretty good detail mostly focusing on rest stop, shelter and nature details of the pilgrimage and somewhat less on the temples.

Bruce Feiler, Sacred Journeys, has an 88 temple Shikoku pilgrimage episode:
