Sankara and Santideva...well thats like comparing a diamond with a diamond!
I read Viveka Chudamani and Bhaja govindam many years ago and it's the path of insight, the path of the ascetic.
You probably don't need to read a PhD on the subject, read the original work. Its wonderfully tough, only for the very ripe.
