Thus shall ye think of all this fleeting world:
A star at dawn, a bubble in a stream;
A flash of lightning in a summer cloud,
A flickering lamp, a phantom, and a dream.

Listening to this song I was moved to write this prayer:
Listening to this song I was moved to write this prayer:
Hail and praise to you, mighty Ra. Matchless among the translators of the Land of Snows.
O Great Vajrabhairava, obliterate my obstacles and guide me to Enlightenment's shore, I pray.
Equanimity is the ground. Love is the moisture. Compassion is the seed. Bodhicitta is the result.
-Paraphrase of Khensur Rinpoche Lobsang Tsephel citing the Guhyasamaja Tantra
"All memories and thoughts are the union of emptiness and knowing, the Mind.
Without attachment, self-liberating, like a snake in a knot.
Through the qualities of meditating in that way,
Mental obscurations are purified and the dharmakaya is attained."

I'm done bogarting this thread. Just having a trip down memory lane over Christmas break... I don't even have a radio or cd player anymore...

Re: Music time
It's funny how many Buddhists still appreciate punk and other aggressive music. I can't listen to too much of it, so I prefer the happier stuff like Minutemen, Firehose and Dinosaur Jr. these days. Dinosaur is a bit whiny, but seems to have some good intentions in whatever lyrics I can make out. I don't pay attention to lyrics, anyway. Maybe I will return to bogart the thread later with instrumental music. haha... not now.

Re: Music time
Wanted to start a whole thread about this song and video
OM MANI PADME HUM
but it's probably not worth it.
I find it annoying, but I like the song. Quite torn. Seems exploitative and devoid of actual value.
and so does DEAD MANTRA... but, I like that song, too!

Re: Music time
Just stumbled across this:
It's from an instructional video.
I was kind of shocked to see that many commenters on youtube seem to hate Kaiser for some reason.
