This past summer Deer Park Buddhist Center in Madison, Wisconsin hosted a reading of both the Perfection of Wisdom Sutra in 100,000 verses and the entire Kangyur-- the Buddha's speech. The purpose for this reading was the Long Life of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the Long Lives of Geshe Lhundub Sopa-la, Lama Zopa Rinpoche, Jangtse Choje Rinpoche and all special teachers, as well as for world peace.
