I really admire the courage of the new Kalu Rinpoche. Pretty amazing.

Where are all the trained and qualified lamas? Where are all the old students?

The old sudents simply went away, and better go to Vajradhara Ling or else. As for the trained and qualified lamas, those who are there are trained and have "technical" qualifications. The main problem comes from the main responsable, which has never been interested by the management of the center ... his dream is to teach only. Because of that, organisation and right decisions are not realized. It starts with the non-vegetarian cooking until the bad "whisky drinking" habit of some (many) lamas. The temple is closed when no rituals so there is no ritual place, but you can see the temple from the first flour ... for money. Everything is organized around money, there is many tourists in this part of France and many are visiting the temple and the (superbe) parc around, including a stupa and a café-bar. Once a year, during summer, a festival is organized (not for free), and lama and there wifes are practicing tibetan dances.
So to the question asked, visitors have replaced old students and qualified lamas have a nice familly life, easy going, eating meat and drinking alcohol in a very nice place, for a puja two times per day (only in spring and summer) ... not all of course.
