Karmapa Article

I just read an article first published in the Guardian.

http://www.buddhistchannel.tv/index.php ... 17,0,0,1,0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

From the sounds of it, there may be a little trouble in paradise as they say. The trouble seems to be that Ogyen trinley Dorje is starting to feel a bit hemmed in and is perhaps an unwilling player, perhaps a pawn, in Tibetan exile politics.

It seems as though he'd like to travel - to see the people who wish to see him - but the Indian government prevents this.

From what I read, it also seems like he doesn't care much for the politics, either.

I wonder, considering his importance internationally and the restriction on his travel, why doesn't he go to the nearest US embassy and ask for assylum and take is seat to KTD? Europe maybe? The Chinese would pitch a fit to be sure, but so what? Removed from the exile political scene and ensconced in a monastery far from all that, he'd become a non-player and better able to fill the role he was born to fulfill.

Maybe I'm being naive, here, but ......

karmapa sensitive to the suffering of others, even those who seek to put karmapa in a box or in ten ton shoes, to keep him down. this article is one such propaganda trail balloon floated by gossip and speculative lame stream media dinosaurs to keep karmapa in a box. feel compassion for the negative destructive minds of people who wish to control others through fear.

heruka not buying it.
