Dagpo Region in Tibet

I am reading about Gampopa.

He was born in the Dagpo region in Tibet, hence the term `Dagpo Kagyu`.

This definitely is not around Kham or around Lhasa.
Does anyone know where this area is ?

Southern Tibet, west or east of the Kodari/Nyalam to Lhasa road ?

I do not find any source referring to the location of Dagpo.

Taking into consideration that Gampopa heard about Milarepa`s teachings it might be around the areas where Milarepa lived and taught. Interesting thought.
