People, this is an obituary thread, can we keep it on topic?

It is REALLY sad that the Nepalese government made this decision, the "why's?" are unimportant and irrelevant to the topic of the thread.

Stay on topic!

HH Shamar Rinpoche's kudung going to Kalimpong. So I assume the cremation will take place there.

Actually Kalimpong was always part of the schedule, the question is whether he can go to the Shar Min Nub monastery near Kathmandu afterwards for the cremation, as was planned. From what I heard, there's lots of negotiating going on about that.

Would be wonderful if he could come to Nepal as planned. The support for him is incredible there. Literally tens of thousands of people attended his empowerments in the past, and close to a hundred thousand might possibly attend a cremation ceremony.

Just heard, from one of my lama, that they will be allowing the cremation to take place in Kathmandu. Once I have a source, I will post it.

There will be a live stream of the cremation ceremony tomorrow by Sharminub Foundation.

The broadcast can be seen here. The ceremony will last all day so I imagine any time you tune in...
