Hi
In general karma cannot be transferred, right? In the famous lojong story whereby a great master was able to transfer the pain of a dog that had been hit by a stone to himself, what was happening there in terms of karma? By transferring the pain of the dog onto himself, was he in effect transferring karmic result?
And what about the story of Milarepa when he was poisoned by the jealous Geshe, and he temporarily transferred the suffering onto a door to show the extent of suffering. Karmic results can't ripen on an inanimate object, so I'm guessing it was a miraculous display just to illustrate the extent of suffering to educate the Geshe on the harm he had inflicted? Any other explanation?
Thanks.
