I think you have to realize that the treatment of the various Mahayana tenets does not change so much between the various schools Sangey.

In my experience, when teaching westerners, Nyingmapas don't go into great detail about the Six Perfections. They certainly mention them to inform you about them, and encourage you to always practice them, but all in a brief way. The teachings on conduct reflect more what to do with the mind, ie. Dzogchen teachings.

We should practice them when we have the chance, but they take forever to attain Buddhahood. That's why we use tantric techniques.

Is there a text or commentary that Nyingma's use to study any of the three sets of vows?
