Narak Kong Shak

Postby KonchokZoepa » Tue Nov 05, 2013 3:30 pm

hi, i found a Narak Kong Shak practice text from the internet after reading http://www.rigpawiki.org/index.php?titl ... _Kong_Shak

does anyone have any information that do you need a lung or empowerment to do this or can this be practiced by anyone on sojong days?

also any other knowledge about this would be appreciated.
If the thought of demons
Never rises in your mind,
You need not fear the demon hosts around you.
It is most important to tame your mind within....

In so far as the Ultimate, or the true nature of being is concerned,
there are neither buddhas or demons.
He who frees himself from fear and hope, evil and virtue,
will realize the insubstantial and groundless nature of confusion.
Samsara will then appear as the mahamudra itself….

You need lung but there's no empowerment as far as I know. I've been doing this for 43 years. Great practice. Typically it's done during the confession section at tshog.

HH Penor Rinpoche gave this is a series of empowerments and lung in August 2003 (and undoubtedly at other times as well). On this occasion he didn't really go into detail distinguishing between lung and empowerment. However as I remember, he gave lung for it (he would do one thing and then briefly explain it and then do the next, etc.).
