Maybe Zong Rinpoche, he had such a beard.
A bodhisattva does not become weary of evil beings nor does he commit the error of bringing forth thoughts inclined to reject them and cast them aside. Avatamsaka Sutra, ch. 25

thanks for answering, but the hat suggests that this lama is a nyingmapa (or maybe kagyupa)

to me it looks like a yellow hat.

http://buddhism.about.com/od/Schools-of ... elugpa.htm

like this
If the thought of demons
Never rises in your mind,
You need not fear the demon hosts around you.
It is most important to tame your mind within....

In so far as the Ultimate, or the true nature of being is concerned,
there are neither buddhas or demons.
He who frees himself from fear and hope, evil and virtue,
will realize the insubstantial and groundless nature of confusion.
Samsara will then appear as the mahamudra itself….

i have never ever seen a gelugpa with the three stripes-hat of (f.e.) a khenpo. Except H.H. Dalai Lama 14th
maybe it is him with another hat and w/o sun-glasses: :sage:
