Hello villkorkarma,

The term is mostly used in the part of Tibetan Buddhism called Dzogchen.
It is not part of the Theravada Tradition, and not taught in the Suttas/Vinaya/Abhidhamma.

Hi villkorkarma,

As Chris already mentioned, 'Rainbow Body' is a Tibetan Buddhist teaching.

Perhaps Namdrol and others at Dharma Wheel could tell you more about it.

with kind wishes,

Aloka

I have a book about the chakras in the rainbowbody-tradition and there it is written that those who i dont remember what chakra it is about but that isnt clean for those people supress their nature.. and will do anything for their minds excitingness.

maybe this is right way to go?

karmapa has the rainbowbody and he is on www.youtube.com

what do you think about this?
are those who has the rainbowbody happier then the buddha in buddhahood?
Will the buddha goes down on earth again for that case to reach the rainbowbody?
develoup.

Forgive the bluntness, but does it matter?

Why not ask this on a Tibetan /Mahayana forum?
Many there will be better placed to answer you.....
