Following is a letter from Gochen Tulku Sang-ngag Tenzin Rinpoche
describing the nature and importance of this project.
My Dear Dharma Friends,
At present, I am the primary lineage holder of the great terton,
Tsasum Lingpa. Therefore, I have been particuarly encouraged to spread
these teachings and see that they increase. In this effort, Khyabje
Dudjom Rinpoche and Kyhabje Khyentse Rinpoche have both written
letters emphasizing the importance of reprinting these very rare

To the supreme Tulku Sangnak Tenzin:
I am very happy that you have been victorious over the forces who are
enemies of the teachings and have come to India and Nepal. This
decrepit, old man received your letter and has been considering it. It
does not matter where you stay, in Darjeeling, India or in Nepal; both
are excellent. There will be no problems for you.
Now the time has come, in accordance with your previous aspiration
prayers and intentions, to revive and continue the Dharma of the great
Terton Namchak Tsa Sum Lingpa. Be unwavering in your intention to
I pray that it will not be long before we meet. With offerings of
aspiration prayers and verses of auspiciousness,
The old man Dudjom
The undisputed great terton Namchak Tsa Sum Lingpa, an emanation of
Nupchen Sangye Yeshe, left 21 volumes of profound, revealed teachings
(termas) out of which only a small fraction was incorporated into the
collection of the Rinchen Terzod. Gochen Tulku Sangnak Tenzin, who
holds the complete lineage of these termas, and who has the books in
his possession, greatly wishes to reprint these extremely rare
scriptures. H.H. Kyabje Dudjom Rinpoche had stressed several times in
the past the importance of saving and spreading these teachings which
have nearly disappeared. Gochen Tulku also wishes to establish a
branch of Dudul Sangnak Ling, his monastery in Tibet.
All devotees are requested to help these projects as best they can,
and may be certain that they are thus contributing to the preservation
of the Buddha Dharma.
