Metta from Hamilton, ON

Postby ba55i5t » Mon Jan 25, 2010 12:52 am

Greetings Dhamma brothers and sisters! My name is James and I've been extremely interested in the Dhamma for the past 7 months or so. I practice regularly at Blue Heron Zen Centre and am in the process of formally taking Refuge. I'm a bit of an eclectic - I've checked out Vajrayana, Zen and Theravada Buddhism and am always interested in learning about the Dhamma. I look forward to being a member of this board.

Hi & welcome to Dhamma Wheel :anjali:

He who knows only his own side of the case knows little of that. His reasons may be good, and no one may have been able to refute them.
But if he is equally unable to refute the reasons on the opposite side, if he does not so much as know what they are, he has no ground for preferring either opinion …
...
He must be able to hear them from persons who actually believe them … he must know them in their most plausible and persuasive form.

Welcome!

To practice is to know your defilements,
To attain the goal is to know and let go.

Welcome ba55i5t! We're practically neighbors. I see Ontario when I look south from my workplace in Detroit. :toast:
