Do yoga after mediation?

Postby dxcore35 » Sat Jun 01, 2013 7:22 pm

I have one main question ;)

    1. Should I do yoga exercises after meditation? + why
    2. Should I do yoga exercises before mediation? + why

Thank you for clear answers!

Yes, what you should do, i cannot say.

But for me, doing yoga before meditation was better. Because the nerves got prepared and calmed down before i sat and concentrated.
Second reason: my yoga teacher told, it is adverse to drink or eat until half an hour after asanas. So it was a good timing to do half an hour of meditation after asanas - and then have a cup of tea.
Now i fail to do yoga-asanas since years because i'm calm enough... But would be good for the body to start again... :yinyang:

I heard that yoga was originally created as a preparation for meditation, or as a form of meditation itself. The "corpse pose" done at the end of a yoga session is a meditation.

I've found it most beneficial before meditation.

I strongly recommend it, any way it works for you; before during, after, all of the above....
It's how I started. In fact I practiced the yoga asanas (positions) before I started meditating.
I think it's really helpful, especially in the beginning stages of meditation practice.
It was for me.

Because yoga positions work on the glands and calm the nervous system. The benefit is not only immediate but long-term.
