This is one of those topics that i never seem to be able to learn enough about, ie how I am conditioned. When I say 'conditioned' i mean how I am predisposed to understand or interpret what is being said or what is happening. How I habitually or automatically interpret not only my own life's events but what others say and do as well. And habits are easier to become acquainted with than automatic reactions or responses.
To be fully free of ones conditioning is to be fully realized, i think.
Guru Rinpoche taught that, in this time, it would be dzogchen teachings which would most be able to help people. Dzogchen teachings are so helpful because no matter what arises, whatever conditioned response I (or you) may have, it can be self-liberated on the spot and therefore no longer have the power to further condition me (or you as the case may be).
To my understanding this is the third of the Four Noble Truths, ie the way out of suffering. The way out of that which binds us to samsara and suffering.
Anyway, i just wanted to bring up this topic of conditioning so that I (and anyone else that cares to) can look closely at how each and every moment we are conditioned by something. And how each and every moment is an opportunity to go beyond that conditioning. To let that conditioning dissolve in the space of the natural mind.
As dzogchen practitioners, thats what we are about, yes?
