The Tantra of the Sharp Vajra of Insight and Awareness

(Shey-rik Dorje Nӧnpo Gyud)
Teachings and Practice on this Dudjom Lingpa trekchö text

with Lama Tharchin Rinpoche

At Pema Osel Ling, near Santa Cruz, CA.

In Lama Tharchin Rinpoche's words:

"Shey-rik Dorje Nӧnpo Gyud is the wisdom mind treasure of the Lord of the Dance, Traktung Dudjom Lingpa, who experienced Kuntuzangpo directly in a vision giving teachings and answering questions to his own emanation's retinue of bodhisattvas. Of Dudjom Lingpa’s five Dzogchen tantra treasures (the others being Neluk Rang-jung, Ma-gom Sangye – also known as the Nang Jang, Dagö Japu Chen and Sang-tri Ka-gya-ma), this is the root tantra treasure…”

Onsite sleeping accommodations for Lama Tharchin Rinpoche's retreat later this week on Dudjom RInpoche's "Mountain Retreat" (ri chö) are full. One could still come and stay in a hotel in Watsonville or Santa Cruz, but pre-register for the program and meals at Vajrayana.org.

As far as I know, the two week Trekchö retreat at the end of December is not full yet, but if you want to stay on-site it would be smart to register early. Also, if you haven't been to Pema Osel Ling in the winter before, know that winters in the Santa Cruz mountains are usually cold and wet, so bring layers.

These retreats are invaluable to a serious Dzogchen practitioner. Rinpoche's style is to go through the text more or more line by line and go over the meaning of the Dzogchen vocabulary in depth. This is interspersed with illustrative anecdotes and heart instructions based on his experience as a Dzogchen yogi.
