Post by T. Chokyi »

Chatral Sangye Dorje Rinpoche's Spiritual Partner, Sangyum Kamala, will be on The West Coast USA offering teachings and giving transmission at Orgyen Dorje Den Orgyen 2244 Santa Clara Ave Alameda, CA September 11th and 12th (also scheduled to for September 19th) and then again in Northern CA at Tashi Choling Gompa September 16th through 18th (see below)

Born in northern India, in the village of Pangi near to Manali, in the northern Indian State of Himachal Pradesh Sangyum Kamala is the daughter of Tulshuk Lingpa, a renowned terton in the Nyingmapa lineage, and Phuntsok Choedon, a great practitioner and dakini, who devoted her entire life to Dharma practice. When she passed away at age 83, her body remained in meditation for 7 days, and a circular rainbow appeared in the sky over her room. Sangyum met her root guru H.H. Dudjom Rinpoche and Chatral Rinpoche in Simla at age 13. Her father was also a student of HH Dudjom Rinpoche, and her grandfather was Gyachok Lingpa, a famous Terton and doctor from Golok, Serta, and was a student of Dudjom Lingpa. At age 20, she married Chatral Sangye Dorje, considered by many to be one of the greatest living Dzogchen masters today, and they have now been married for 50 years, with three daughters and two granddaughters. During her life, she has received an uninterrupted stream of Dharma teachings and transmissions, and her practice has emphasized the Dudjom Tersar and Longchen Nyingtig traditions. She has constantly carried out and maintained the activities of Chatral Rinpoche, by supporting the retreat practice of countless sublime yogis and yoginis throughout Nepal and India, caring for those in need both with material and spiritual wealth, She carries on Chatral Rinpoche’s example of freeing lives every year in Calcutta by releasing millions of fish into the Ganges and has constructed numerous stupas, prayer wheels, and other holy supports in both India and Nepal.
