Haiti

For those that may not have access to global media be informed probably at least 200,000 have been crushed to death in Haiti due to earthquake. It may be stated 200,000 other sentient beings are crushed to death by other means each minute but the particulars of being human make this form of death most tragic.

For those that believe in the power of prayers and/or the power of mantra a reminder also that those forms of expression have no limitations as per geography or location.

It is certainly nice and necessary to have great concern for loved ones and animals in our immediate families but keep in mind the particular tragic nature of the death by trauma of humans and the identical nature of those that are suffering this effect beyond our immediate families.

my personal choice of charity to Haiti is the Lambi Fund. Doctors without borders is also a charitable choice of mine that does much work in Haiti, but there are seemingly very many equally beneficial to choose from to include the Red CRoss. All charities have websites explaining how to donate. But be careful to examine the web addresses. Heinous peoples are apparently copying web sites to misdirect funds to their personal benefit on occasion, reportedly.

There are easy ways for us all to help, such as through this program setup by the Red Cross.

Does anyone know anything about DEC, The Disasters Emergency Commitee, btw?

I switched to making my disasters donations through them a while back. Reason being that the idea of all the donations going into one pot and then being allocated out to vetted charities according to which does what, and what is actulay needed, kinda made sense to me.
