Amnesty International: Death Sentences and Executions 2013

There were 778 known executions during 2013, an increase of 15% over 2012, owing to an upsurge in executions in Iraq and Iran. China leads the pack of fearful thug nations that rely upon death and the threat of death followed by Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, the USA and some 18 others. The total number of executions for North Korea was not reported as this number is unknown.
