Efforts should be directed towards preserving human, scientific and cultural knowledge that can survive a collapse of civilization. For example, Buddhists should look into preserving all manner of texts (including the most recent scholarship) that can survive a throwback to dark ages. Perhaps buried in a cave like Dunhuang.
