What is taking place in Burma?

A place for discussion of current events. Buddhist news would be particularly appreciated.

What is taking place in Burma?

Here are some alarming news about violence taking place in the context of the buddhist Sangha in Burma. We can hardly know everything that is behind it. What is really happening?

Badmouthing of other spiritual paths is not allowed.

What does this mean? It means that if you wish to make a criticism of any community, do so with some credible evidence and in the spirit of rational debate (providing links when possible). The rote repetition of stereotypes not based in fact will be removed as this constitutes disruptive speech.

Thank you.
