Hello all,

Maybe of interest to some of you. Certainly the first Buddhist school I've ever heard of in Derbyshire!

The school's literature states that children will "learn the skills of how to be happy"... excuse newbie ignorance but isn't that NOT the point of BuddhaDharma...? Still, I struggle explaining dependent arising to my 8 year old niece so good luck to these dudes.

A mere few miles from this place are really deprived areas of Derby. I don't recall any 'outreach' programmes... perhaps us grubby city rats arn't worth bothering with.... No money, no copy of the Guardian? No Dharma!

Unfortunately for the children that will be attending the school, the organisation responsible for the school is linked to the banned (by his Holiness the Dalai Lama) New Kadampa Tradition.
