If you're familiar with buddhist chant then I do this - throughout the day in the daily lifestyle I silently "chant" in a certain spirit

Gautama Buddha
Shakyamuni Buddha

Gautama Buddha
Shakyamuni Buddha

Gautama Buddha
Shakyamuni Buddha

Throughout my day I don't vocalize just "chant" in a spirit consciousness.

Here's one that's easy to do: Buddhaṃ saraṇaṃ gacchāmi.

If difficulties arise, try visualizing one small part of the object of meditation. When that becomes clear, move to another part, and build up the mental image that way.

Do make yourself familiar with the object you're trying to visualize in any way you can. Put it on your phone, though perhaps as a background is not respectful. Find a black and white version, copy several times and color it (I did the latter) etc.

In general it's a good idea to start with the general shape and move on to add more details, though it does sometimes help to start with a detail and work from there as well. Just keep experimenting with it and keep trying, and the image will likely get clearer in time. Still, I know of many long time meditators who cant get an image at all: they just meditate on the description.
