Hello, I'm new here...
Have you studied the Heart Sutra before ?
It is one of the most recited Sutra in Buddhism and is the subject of much interpretation and many books (especially recently in Japan for some reason).
There are various observed readings of the meaning behind the Heart Sutra and especially the meaning of the various terms within the text.
The meaning of Emptiness is a much discussed topic.
If I may, I would like to introduce a YouTube Link to a possibly interesting interpretation of the terms.

A newer version of this YouTube video has been created.
The YouTube video is an English language summary of a book in Japanese by an author named Kuu Fudoh.

Re: The Heart Sutra and Emptiness meanings
There is another 3rd version of this YouTube video expressing What is Emptiness.
I think I am finally beginning to get this personally.
It seems that perhaps the common sense interpretation or understanding of Emptiness is "without substance".
But it I think the author (and I helped them with proof-reading the English this time around) is positing that Emptiness is more akin to a 'Super-Substance' rather than 'no substance'...
