The following is a free course you can download as mp3 files. This is one heck of a find and there probably isn't anything like it elsewhere. A lot of files to keep you occupied for awhile.

Personally I like listening to dharma talks while going for a long walk in the evening.

This course delves into the direct teachings of the Buddha himself as preserved in some of the oldest records of his discourses. As the themes of the Buddha’s discourses are mutually implicative and closely interwoven, it will not take long for the earnest student to acquire a clear sense of the fundamental framework of the teachings. The student is given a detailed overview of all the major teachings of Early Buddhism, including:

* Life of the Buddha
* Fundamental Ethics
* Meditation and Mind-training
* Nature of True Wisdom

NOTE: All of the MN Series audio files have been re-edited for better sound quality, and the series is available on CDs and DVDs.

Hi Huseng,

You might also be interested in Bhikkhu Bodhi's lectures based on his book "In the Buddha's Words" http://wisdompubs.org/Pages/display.lasso?-KeyValue=104" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
which are available here: http://www.noblepath.org/audio.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The audio makes this outstanding introduction to the Pali Canon even more useful and instructive... :thumbsup:

The book is based on the scheme he came up with for the MN course, but makes a lot of use of SN Suttas to illuminate the crucial areas.

I've been working my way through Bhikku Bodhi's lectures on the Majjhima Nikaya.

He has a very nuanced approach which is well founded both philologically and philosophically: I highly recommend him.

It's great to have some help navigating through Pali canon.
