A lesson from Chone Lama Rinpoche.

Post by muni »

Piece, free translation out of a work by Chone Lama Rinpoche (1816)

In the imagined city of samsara
Is hanging on a misleading mind,
like a poisoned tree,
a sack of garbage,
the impure body
strongly bound together
by the ropes of karma.

This monster that sees all
as its own possessions
is sitting in my heart and bones
the trigger of hate and attachment
like the serpent and the rooster
which are foreboders of decay.

In the ocean of mental fabrications
are rising the waves of pain
they throw on the beach
their foam of change
everything is taken away
by their stream of suffer.

How many pleasures
this world offers, nothing
which will not disappoint
only the dharma remains
as a friend for always
may this penetrate in us.

In this sea of samsara existence
six kind of beings wildly jump around
they are begging and waning
all swept away in the waves of confusion
birth sickness and death
so plant the wishing seed
to liberate them all,
from the depth of your heart.

It is not easy to give a sweet flavour
to the eternal tree of my mind
soaked by the bitter juice of polution
what difference are making few drops?

Put on the armour of patience
bend the bow of efficacy and enthusiasm
prepare the sharp arrows of diligence
to conquer all hostile pollutions.

Let the whirlwind of investigation of truth
dispel the mist of ignorance, which darkened
my mind, freed in space always been empty
may the glorious sun of knowing shine!
