According to the training that Lama Dawa Rinpoche has established, when students complete the Ngondro, they begin the generation stage practices of the dakini, Yeshe Tsogyal, according to the Three-Roots of the Dudjom Tersar lineage. This practice begins with receiving the empowerment and transmissions. Then students are required to attend a 'Yeshe Tsogyal Intensive,' where they learn how to conduct the ritual sadhana - how to set up the shrine mandala, make tormas, the mudras, melodies and ritual activities, and the essentail points of the meditation practice. This is followed with a seven-day closed retreat under the supervision of either Lama Dawa Rinpoche or Khandro Kunzang.
After completing this successfully, students are authorized to continue their practice on their own - doing closed retreats in their own home, for example, or doing intensive daily sessions until they complete they requisite number of recitations of the 'nyen-pa' or generation stage. Once this is complete, students must do a fire puja (jin-sek) with Lama Dawa Rinpoche, then they receive the instructions and transmissions to continue with the 'drub-pa' or completion stage practice.
This is followed by another fire puja, then they continue with the ley-jang, or the practice of the four activities and the tse-drub, or longevity practice. This is the 'path' of the dakini deity practice, which then forms the foundation for further practices within the Khandro T'hug-t'hig tantra.
We rejoice in the merit and effort of our students who recognize the importance of following the path, as set out by the great practitioners and mahasiddhas of the past. May your practices flourish and may you realize your own innate nature as inseparable with the dakini!
