Kuji-In? Hm?

Some of my acquaintance are involved to some extent with this group, Kuji-In,and their leader "Maha Vajra" or Francois Lepine. He claims to be a Buddhist Acharya on his facebook profile, but which tradition he trained in is anyone's guess. A link:

What I notice immediately is how he's cashing in on certain mudra-like gestures. It's spiritual materialism writ large. I'm posting this in the Vajrayana forum in part to call this group out for misrepresenting matters (specifically their relationship to Buddhism), but also to ask people who practice intensively in Tibetan lineages to take a look and see anything specific to Vajrayana outside of Japan has been sucked into this scheme.

I'm certain there are earnest people involved in this group. I'm not trying to break their bones. On the contrary: it would be good if they found a home with an authentic teacher and a steady practice to work with. Here they are, down in the West Texas town of El Paso...

As discussed previously on the former E-Sangha forum, Francois "Maha Vajra" Lepine does not have a legitimate claim to holding lineage in any esoteric Buddhist traditions, and has merely mixed up his own batch of what he's seen Shingon/Tendai Buddhists do.

In this video he claims to be PureLand Bishop with knowledge of Vajrayana.
I remember this being discussed on e-sangha as well.

Seishin.

Would you mind disclosing when, where, and in whose auspices were you ordained as a Buddhist monk?

MahaVajra
Tradition: Hongaku Jodo. By: Ajari Sha Maku. Location: London, Ontario, canadian branch of Hongaku Jodo. Not monk, but priest. Monk = monastery, while priest = operates in the world. Ordained thru Pureland, but my studies are mostly Vajrayana.

Here is a link to their website. http://www.hongakujodo.com/

I'm bumping this thread because this group seems to be changing their name: mahajrya?

http://www.mahajrya.org" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

This bit I found of interest:
Expectations (at least one)
* That you train daily
* OR that you promote the QBA
* OR Participate to research
* OR Contribute financially

The site and their drafted hierarchy looks like a guild for World of Warcraft.

Though probably not as fun as World of Warcraft.

I find this depressing, because as I said before, these kinds of programs have a way of drawing well-intentioned and otherwise street-smart people in. How is it that "too good to be true" can be such an effective sell?

Here's another one, by the way.
